What we do

Human data your AI team can defend.

NaraDatum helps AI teams source, assess and obtain appropriately licensed human data for multilingual production systems, starting with how India actually speaks. We check what already exists and can lawfully be licensed before anyone funds new collection.

Three routes, in this order

Every requirement is checked against them in sequence. Collection is the fallback, not the starting point.

  1. Route 1

    Existing reviewed supply

Where suitable existing data clears review, NaraDatum can move towards licensing without commissioning unnecessary new collection. Any candidate dataset is located and reviewed against the requirement before a match is claimed.

Licensing terms are agreed per dataset. Availability is confirmed against the requirement.

  2. Route 2

Managed sourcing: locating and reviewing potential suppliers

Where suitable data may exist outside anything NaraDatum has reviewed, we look for a supplier who holds it and review their identity, rights and provenance before anything is licensed. No supplier is described as reviewed until that work is complete, and the rights-holder for each dataset is identified per transaction.

Each buyer requirement triggers a requirement-specific supply search and dataset-level review. Previous supplier approval does not replace review of the relevant dataset and rights position.

  3. Route 3

    Buyer-funded custom collection

When suitable existing data does not meet the requirement, NaraDatum scopes a buyer-funded custom collection. A collection may be NaraDatum-controlled or partner-managed. In a partner-managed collection, the approved partner operates the collection workflow to the agreed project requirements; NaraDatum reviews the evidence and delivery against the agreed brief. Partner controls are not presented as NaraDatum system controls. Work starts once the requirement is funded, not before.

Reaches briefs existing supply cannot. Adds collection time and cost. Never the default.

Across all three

Evaluation is not a fourth route. It runs across all three: candidate data is assessed against the actual AI use case (the pipeline stage, the languages and code-switching involved, and the speaker structure the deployment needs) before it is offered, sourced further, or used to justify funding a collection. Suitability is never one score, and a set that fits recognition is not assumed to fit synthesis or agent evaluation.

What we do not do

  • We do not publish a public catalogue, and we do not claim a match before one is found.
  • We do not present supplier-owned data as collected or owned by NaraDatum.
  • We do not describe an application as verification. Applying is a request for review.
  • We do not fund speculative collection. Route 3 begins once a requirement is funded.
  • We do not issue a single quality score. Suitability is assessed per use case.

Custom collection, when it is the right route

Route 3 is a NaraDatum capability. NaraDatum-controlled collection uses NaraDatum workflows. In partner-managed collection, an approved partner operates its own collection workflow to agreed project requirements. NaraDatum reviews the partner’s evidence and delivery against the brief; it does not describe partner controls as NaraDatum system controls.

Collection under NaraDatum specification is specified as linear PCM WAV. Sample rate and bit depth are confirmed per project against the buyer specification, and the delivered technical properties are stated per file rather than claimed in general.

For NaraDatum-controlled collection, consent records are linked to the relevant contributor and data, with permitted-use scope retained as part of the project record.

Tell us what your model needs

Describe the requirement and we review it against reviewed existing data first, then managed sourcing, and scope funded collection only where existing data cannot meet the brief.
